What is CBG?

Cannabigerol (CBG) is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid, praised for being the “mother” and “stem cell” of cannabinoids. CBG is the precursor to both CBD and THC, and it is THC free.

In their recently published article titled, “Is CBG The New CBD?” NewBeauty Magazine looks to Katherine Ragusa, Co-Creator of Lab to Beauty, for her insight on this hot new ingredient. Known as the Beauty Authority, NewBeauty Magazine features how “Lab to Beauty is utilizing CBG in a new collection of face and body products focused on healing, hydration, and anti-aging.”

CBG’s incredible ability to help skin cells retain moisture, coupled with Lab to Beauty’s proprietary blend of Moringa and Immortelle, enhances the healing experience of CBG.

CBG has incredibly transformative properties, helping to renew and replace damaged skin cells. Most importantly, CBG increases basal sebaceous lipid synthesis. Sebaceous glands produce sebum onto the surface of our skin that helps to moisturize and protect our skin naturally.  Sebum is an oily substance made up of fat, keratin, and cellular residue. Sebum protects our skin from environmental stressors that cause premature aging. Sebum’s composition is unique for its extremely high percentage of long-chain fatty acids that essentially act as a moisture defense system. CBG works to keep our sebaceous glands healthy by both maintaining and increasing its lipid synthesis.

As humans age, our lipid production slows, and our skin becomes increasingly defenseless, weakening most dangerously our ability to retain moisture. CBG helps to maintain it. Therefore, the more productive your sebaceous gland, the younger your skin will appear. CBG is a knight-in-shining-armor for our skin.

Our ultra healing hydration complex combines CBG, with two other all-star ingredients: Moringa Oil and Immortelle.  Moringa oil is also a good source of oleic acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid that can replenish skin and help guard against moisture loss. CBG with Moringa provides a double defense against moisture loss. Immortelle is a small flower that is native to the Mediterranean region.  Their petals, which neither fade nor wilt, provide our complex with regenerative properties, as well as incredible anti-inflammatory benefits.

Lab to Beauty, recently named “the best CBD line in the industry, period” by Saks Fifth Avenue’s Selling Director, will launch its CBG Healing Hydration Collection in Fall 2020. This innovative new five-piece skincare series for the face + body features Lab to Beauty’s lavish CBG moisturizing ritual to reveal youthful skin, with luxurious + visibly soothing hydration that heals the dryness and sensitivity that ages skin. The collection will debut at the Luxury Meets Cannabis Conference, where the Lab to Beauty Creators will also speak about CBG, the industry’s next frontier.
